The thing that first brought Jameson, Kyle, Adrian, Sean, Lee, and myself together when we were kids was our love for music. Playing music, jamming, listening to CDs, going to as many concerts as our parents would bring us to… That was our bond which lead to what we have become as adults.
Now adults, that passion for music has driven all of us to follow that path in our respective careers. Kyle, a sound engineer, Sean and Adrian also working in sound, Lee also working as an engineer and producer, myself (a musician who gave up on playing) as a photographer within the music industry, but Jameson was the only one of us to continue onto a stage, performing regularly.
Even though we all found different paths in the sound and music world, we all followed it from a foundation that was started when we met and became friends and starting sharing what music we liked, playing music together and staying up late enough at sleep overs for headbangers ball to come on.
That passion for music we built together, has always kept us bonded together, though with time, we have sadly, mostly become distant strangers to the best friends we once were.
We are very fortunate in that, though Jameson is gone, his voice is still here for us to listen to… his music will forever be something we can put on and remember that passion for music we all have within ourselves stays with us, always.
You can demolish the building, but the foundation we built, forever remains, even after we’re gone.
What Jameson leaves behind will be the beat, within our hearts.
RIP Jameson.
hopeis4tomorrow asked: I just wanted to thank you for writing that. Right before I read this I wrote about my suffering and self hate. How much I want it to be over. The next thing I saw was your post. I don't believe in God but I took that as a sign.
everyone needs to find love within themselves. i really really hope you do. i dont believe in any higher being, but i will believe in you.
Life isn’t an easy journey. We start with a battle against all odds in hopes that others will take care of us until we can fend for ourselves… but once we can fend for ourselves, we strive not to have others take care of us or help us, even if we really need it.
We grow up in cruelty, where every decision up to what t-shirt you wear to school is constantly dissected by all those around us, and even ourselves. We try so hard to not take a misstep and stay off the radar of those who will bury us with words and label us in a bad light or make every day of school for us a complete nightmare.
With this battle, comes strength. As we grow, we learn what matters, and find less validity in the opinions of others, and find respect for those whose opinions do matter.
We argue with our parents, who can be either supportive, knowing what is best for us… or non-supportive trying to mold you into something you aren’t meant to be. Most are doing what they think is right, even if its wrong. As we grow so do the relationships with our parents… either closer together or further apart…
We grow out into the world which is mean in so many worse and different ways than school, so much more unfair with so many REAL issues that one HAS to deal with and can not avoid because things like money, rent, mortgage, a job, family, relationships, and health all become a vital part of adulthood.
It is sometimes easy to be crushed under the weight of these things, and to find less faith in a failing race of people who are selfish and cruel.
This world is not getting better by any means… greed, self-importance, and a general cut-throat mentality has overcome the general public while morality and positive values plummet beneath even biblical levels.
We live in a world of cynicism, and it makes sense that we are all so jaded and full of negativity when that is all we see in the media and in our lives. As we grow older, and become more intelligent, its near impossible not to hold strong to a misanthropic view of the world.
But… there is good out there… there is love, there is friendship, there is music, there is art, there is so much, SO much, out there worth living for. Live for yourself.
No matter how dark, how ugly, how awful the world can be… its not worth taking yourself out of it.
I have had some pretty awful days, today being one of them, but I hold fast to the hope that even if its not tomorrow, or the day after… things will eventually change. Maybe not right away, but I always find my best days tend to surround themselves with the worst days.
Perseverance is difficult when you surround yourself with negativity, like most tend to do… but you have to be able to step outside of any given situation and know you have people who care about you that will help you through anything.
The world is a cold, dark, ugly place. We need a hero. We need hope.
We need to find both within ourselves for this world to become a better place.
If you are ever, ever, in a struggle where you doubt your survival or question if living is worth it… PLEASE reach out to someone. Do not internalize your feelings and let the weight of that hold you down. There are many out there to help you when you need it. If you don’t feel you can talk to someone you know, or if the person you love is the cause of the issue, talk to someone else, call a help line. CALL ME! Do anything to fight for yourself rather than against yourself.
If you ever find yourself in such a bad place, please know my line is always open to you, and im not saying that lightly. My contact information is available – if you need someone to talk to. I am here to listen, even if you don’t know me.
Stay strong… and keep on fighting… because above everything, you are worth the battle, you are worth the struggle. Keep on living.
“heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race. There are people dying.. if you care enough for the living.. make it a better place for you and for me.” – Michael Jackson

RIP Jameson.
crushed and devastated to hear of the passing of one of my closest childhood friends… Jameson… we will always have the incredible times with Kyle, Sean, and Adrian… running around longmeadow at ridiculous hours, playing VERY bad covers of marilyn manson, korn, and rage against the machine… …i wish i didnt let our friendship slip through the cracks and fade into acquaintanceship… i wish we would have remained as close as we were back then… i know recently we were arguing semantics as we often did with music back in the day… but… i know our past friendship was still there behind every quip… i wish there was a better way for you or some way things could have been different for you… im really bad at goodbyes… i dont even know what to say… until we jam again.. love you dude… :(
